I’ve always heard it’s best to paint from life.
My work as an artist is an ongoing response to my day to day life, which is taken up by my role as a full-time father/artist to two young daughters, my Mexican heritage, the contribution and work ethic of Latino immigrants as part of the American working class, color, fashion, hip-hop, popular culture, and work.

The foundation of my work is rooted in drawing and painting, but more specifically where the two methods cross paths. I am constantly combining and adding other mediums such as performance, printmaking, video, and sculpture to re-shape, re-define, and respond to issues in society, my personal life, and painting.

My current motto is Werk. Hustle. Sleep. Repeat.
