FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Farewell Show
Houston,
June 26, 2012: Beginning Friday, August 10th, 2012; Jack Meier Gallery will host a Solo
Exhibition of work by Raul Gonzalez,
titled “The Farewell Show”. The exhibition will run August 10th
through August 15th.
Over
the past several years, Raul Gonzalez has combined figurative painting and
drawing with abstraction and collage. His works are based off photographs
taken around the city of Houston.
His
work combines both forms of Pop Art, deconstruction and contemporary realism
with a distinct attention to detail.
This
will be Raul Gonzalez’s last local exhibition before his move to San Antonio,
where the Houston native will begin his pursuit of a Masters of Fine Arts
degree.
"Every aspect of my life becomes part of my artwork.
Whether its personal issues at home, family matters, changes in urban
landscapes, photos I've taken while driving around the city, or spending time
with another working artist. Everything I encounter has an effect on my life
and my art. The more I learn, the more I want to share through my artwork.
There's no sense in limiting information.” - Raul Gonzalez
